The IAP’s work is organised around five workshops:  Dublin in April 2008 (introductory workshop); Entebbe in November 2008 (mainly foresight exercise, stakeholder consultation and discussion papers exploring key concepts); Maputo in May 2009 (mainly completion of foresight exercise, research for development within higher education institutions, and gender training); Zomba in spring 2010 (mainly ‘summer school’ with training) and Belfast in autumn 2010 (concluding workshop).

An additional workshop for senior research officers from the four African universities and nine Irish universities (including vice-Presidents for Research) was held in Dublin City University on 8 - 9 October 2009.
