The Fourth Workshop and Summer School held at Chancellor College, Zomba, Malawi on 22-25 March 2010, focussing on research training, was the most successful IAP event to date (see evaluation at the end of this Proceedings Report). Particular thanks are due to Professor John Saka, who chaired the organizing committee; Mrs Linda Saka,  the local organizer; the Vice-Chancellor of University of Malawi, Dr Emmanuel Fabiano, and the Acting Principal of Chancellor College, Professor Christopher Kamlongera. The summer school featured training modules in research bid writing, research funding, research training, research management, research infrastructure/ICT and human resources.
